Somnox helps you relax with Moments: breathing settings designed to bring calmness. By using a Moment daily, relaxing becomes easier over time. Discover below the types of Moments and how to adjust or create your own.
Discover which Moments suit you
In the app, you’ll find Moments for various purposes, such as sleep, relaxation, and focus. Try different Moments to discover what works best for you. Below is a brief explanation of the special types of Moments.
Somnox Sense
These Moments use smart sensors to detect your breathing rate during the session and adapt to it. This makes the breathing feel even more natural and personalized. You can recognize these Moments by the "Sense" label at the top of the image. Learn more about using Somnox Sense.
Based on 'Your Tempo'
These Moments are based on your natural breathing rate, making the experience feel more intuitive as Somnox takes your natural rhythm as a starting point. You can easily adjust your tempo in the app. These Moments can be found in the "Your Tempo" category. Learn how to set 'Your Tempo' optimally.
Guided Series
Our guided series are a collection of Moments accompanied by a spoken voice to support your breathing. You’ll find these programs under the “Guided Series” section in the app.
Setting up and adjusting Moments
When you’ve found a Moment you’d like to try, you can set it up by pressing the blue button "Set on Somnox". Somnox will immediately start playing your chosen Moment. Once the selected time for the Moment has elapsed, Somnox will automatically turn off. Simply turn it on again to restart your Moment.

Every time you turn on Somnox, it will automatically play your last selected Moment. You only need the app if you want to make adjustments or try a different Moment.
Depending on the type of Moment you’ve selected, you can modify the following settings:
Time: Set the duration of your Moment (up to 120 minutes). For breathing exercises, we recommend 5-10 minutes. Using Somnox in bed? Choose a time slightly longer than it takes you to fall asleep, so you don’t notice when Somnox turns off.
Your Tempo: Adjust the tempo to match your natural breathing rate at rest. Use the “flower” animation in the app to find a tempo that feels right or count your breaths per minute while sitting calmly.
Creating your own Moment
In addition to the pre-made Moments, you can create your own to fully personalize the breathing pattern. Choose between two types:
Slow Down: This type of Moment starts at a set “Begin Tempo” and gradually slows down during the session. Perfect for relaxation and letting go of stress.
Exercise: In this type, Somnox breathes at a constant pace, but you can adjust each segment of the breathing pattern. Customize the length of inhalation, holding, exhalation, and waiting. Ideal for focused breathing exercises.
