This article explains how you can select sounds for Somnox 1

You can listen to calming sounds via the speaker of Somnox 1 including meditation music, nature sounds, and noise. These sounds are developed in collaboration with Manglemoose. Want to learn more about Manglemoose, click here.


Selecting calming sounds

Go to the home screen of the Somnox App to set your preferences. In order to change the settings of Somnox 1, you will need to turn on Somnox 1 and connect with the mobile app through Bluetooth. Read more about connecting with the mobile app here.

  1. On your home screen, click on Sounds

  2. Swipe the switch next to Sounds to the right, the switch becomes green.

  3. Click on Somnox sounds

  4. A selection of sounds will appear including meditation music, nature sounds, and noise. Click for example on Free Spirit

  5. You can listen to a preview of the sound by clicking on Preview

  6. You can select the duration of the sound by clicking on Time and selecting a number of minutes (between 5 and 120 minutes)

  7. Click on Confirm time

  8. Click on Set on Somnox

  9. If Somnox 1 is turned on and connected with the Somnox app, you will now hear the Free Spirit sound via the speaker of Somnox 1


Change the audio volume with the volume buttons

With the volume buttons on the control panel, you can lower or higher the volume. Press the plus button to increase the volume and press the minus button to decrease the volume.


Use the SD-card to import your own music

Important! The mp3 files must be saved in the User folder on the SD card, otherwise, they will not appear in the Somnox App.

In addition to playing sounds available in the Somnox App, you can play your own music. To do this, you must save mp3 files on the SD card which you can find in the control panel of Somnox 1.

  1. Make sure you have mp3 files with your music saved on your computer. The file names may not be longer than 70 characters and should not contain special characters. Furthermore, the mp3 files should have a bitrate of 192 kbps.

  2. There is a small slot on the control panel of Somnox 1 with an SD card.

  3. Remove the SD card from Somnox 1. This is done by gently pressing the SD card. Then it will pop out on its own.

  4. Insert the SD card into your computer or laptop using an SD card adapter.

  5. In the SD card storage on your computer, go to the folder 'Somnox'.

  6. Then go to the folder 'Music'.

  7. Then you will find the folder 'User' (so Somnox/Music/User).

  8. Copy your own mp3 files to the User folder. Note that the file names may not be longer than 70 characters!

  9. Once this is complete, you can remove the SD card from your computer and put it back into Somnox 1.

  10. The Somnox 1 automatically retrieves the numbers and these will be visible in the Somnox App.


Do you prefer no sounds?

Do you prefer to turn off the sounds? You can easily turn sounds off with the mobile app.

  1. On your home screen, click on Sounds

  2. Swipe the switch next to Sounds to the left

  3. If Somnox 1 is turned on and connected with the Somnox app, sounds are now turned off
