What is a software update and in what case should you do this?

Software is the operating system of Somnox 1 and determines its features. You will need to perform a software update in these two cases:

  • If you use Somnox 1 for the first time and the Somnox App notifies you of a software update.

  • After a factory reset of Somnox 1.

You will automatically receive a message in the Somnox App when you need to update the software of Somnox 1.

Important! Make sure that your Somnnox 1 is fully charged before your start an update. It may take about 10 minutes for the update to complete.

Important! Do not charge Somnox 1 while updating.


Instructions for software-update

Step 1: connect Somnox 1 with your phone via Bluetooth

  1. Turn on Somnox 1

  2. Connect Somnox 1 with the mobile app via Bluetooth. Instructions can be found via the button below.

Stap 2: Software-update

⚠️ Important! Fully charge Somnox 1 before you start the software update. Somnox 1 may not be charged during the software update.

⚠️ Important! Make sure that your phone screen does not lock during the software update. You can change your screen lock time via your phone's settings.

  1. If there is an update available, you will see 'Update your Somnox' at the top of the screen. Click this!

  2. A new screen appears, click on 'A new update is available!'

  3. After that, click on 'Update'

  4. The software update of Somnox 1 now starts. This takes approximately 10 minutes. Keep your phone close to Somnox 1. During the software update, the breathing of Somnox 1 stops, and the four battery indicator lights are turned on. Important! Do not turn off Somnox 1 or your phone.

  5. Once the update is finished, you will receive a notification within the mobile app.

  • How do I know if the update was successful? After restarting Somnox 1 and the app, a pop-up will appear stating that the update is ready.

  • How do I know if the update has failed? After restarting Somnox 1 and the app, a pop-up will appear again asking for a software update.
