What is Somnox Sense?

With the Somnox app, you can change the breathing settings of Somnox 2. You can select the breathing rate and breathing ratio yourself, but there is also a feature, called Somnox Sense, that can automatically measure your breathing rate. Somnox 2 can sense your breathing movements and detect your breathing rate after which Somnox 2 will guide you to a more calm and peaceful breathing rate.

Somnox Sense guides you to a calm breathing rate in two steps:

  1. Detection of your breathing rate (sensing)

  2. Adjustment of the breathing rate of Somnox 2 to your breathing rate (synchronization)

Somnox Sense cannot detect the ratio between the length of your inhale and exhale. Therefore, Somnox 1 can only adjust to your breathing rate, not to your breathing ratio.

How does Somnox 2 measure your breathing rate?

Somnox 2 can measure your breathing with high-quality movement sensors. These sensors can measure very small movements and, therefore, also your breathing.

Important! For this feature, it is important that you hold Somnox 2 against your belly or your chest; otherwise, the sensors of Somnox 2 cannot detect your breathing rate.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I set a start breathing rate?

No, the ratio stays constant based on the setting you selected in the app.
