    2. When you don't allow this, you will need to fill in the WiFi network name yourself.

  6. Fill in the password of your WiFi network.

  7. Now press 'Send to Somnox'. Your Somnox will try to connect to your WiFi network. As soon as it succeeds, you will be informed within the app.

Where can you find your Wi-Fi password?

To set up a Wi-Fi connection, you will need the name and password of your Wi-Fi network. You can find the name and password of your Wi-Fi network on the back of your router. The password on your router is mostly called Key or Password.

How do you know whether you are connected with a 2.4 GHz or a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network?

The simplest way to check this is by going to your Wi-Fi settings on your phone and searching for available Wi-Fi networks.

One Wi-Fi network

If you only have one Wi-Fi network at home, you probably only have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. You can select this Wi-Fi network if the Somnox app asks for setting up a Wi-Fi connection.

Two Wi-Fi networks

If you have two Wi-Fi networks but just one router, you probably have both a 2.4 GHz network and a 5 GHz network.

If you have two Wi-Fi networks, the name of your Wi-Fi network should indicate which one is which.

  • If the Wi-Fi network contains 2.4G, 24G, 24, 2, or nothing extra, it is probably a 2.4 GHz network. For example:

    • NameOfYourRouter_2.4G_Wifi

    • YourWifi_24G

    • YourNetwork2

    • HomeNetwork

  • If the Wi-Fi network contains 5.0G, 5G, or 5, it is probably a 5 GHz network. For example:

    • NameOfYourRouter_5.0G_Wifi

    • YourWifi_5G

    • YourNetwork5

I cannot see in the name of the Wi-Fi network whether it is a 2.4 GHz network or a 5 GHz network. What should I do?

If you only have one Wi-Fi network at home, it is probably a 2.4 GHz network. Are you still experiencing trouble setting up a Wi-Fi connection with Somnox 2? With an Android phone, you can see in the Wi-Fi settings of your phone which frequency your Wi-Fi network uses. With an iPhone, you cannot, unfortunately, see this. You will have to contact your Internet provider and ask for help.

Don't have a 2.4GHz network?

If you don't have access to a 2.4GHz network, you can temporarily create a mobile wifi hotspot from your PC or different mobile device. In most cases you can set the hotspot to 2.4GHz.
