What is a software update and when should you do it?
The software is the operating system of Somnox. From time to time, the software needs an update to stay current, and it’s important to update it to the latest version. When it’s time to update the software, you will automatically receive a notification. Additionally, you need to perform a software update if you have done a reset.
How do you perform a software update?

Open the Somnox App
Go to the 'Somnox' tab
Tap the status bar at the top left
Is your Somnox not connected with the app? Then tap on the 'Connect' button and follow the steps in the app.
As soon as you're connected, you'll see whether a new software update is available below the 'Somnox status' section.
Tap on 'New update available'.
A new screen will popup.
Now tap on 'Update'
If this is the first time that you are doing an update, you will have to connect Somnox to your WiFi network. The app will automatically guide you in this process. If you're having trouble doing this, read our help article here.
After you've setup WiFi, you'll come back to the update screen. Tap on 'Update' again.
Somnox will automatically start updating. A blue light will slowly fade in and out on the control panel of your Somnox.
The update takes about 1-2 minutes.
When the update is finished, Somnox will briefly show a green light after which Somnox will restart.
Tap on 'Okay' in the app.
Your Somnox is now fully up to date and ready for use.
Update failed?
Somnox flashes a red light when the update fails. Reconnect your Somnox to the app and try again. Still having trouble? Contact our customer service.

How do I know which software version is currently on my Somnox?
Go to the 'Somnox' tab. Click on the status bar in the top left corner. Connect your Somnox to the app. Directly under the 'Somnox status' section, you’ll see the current software version on your Somnox.
What if I get an error message?
Try again, and if it still doesn’t work, you can contact our customer service (see contact details at the bottom of this article).
What do I see during the update?
The blue light above the power button will slowly pulse on and off.
How long does the update take?
The software update takes approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
How do I know if the update was successful?
Connect your Somnox to the app and check if the latest software version is on your Somnox.
Do I need to stay connected via Bluetooth during the update?
No, this is not necessary. During the update, Somnox will automatically disconnect the Bluetooth connection.
