What is a software update and in what case should you do this?
Software is the operating system of Somnox. Once in a while, a new version of the software will be available with new features for Somnox. In order to get the newest software, you have to update Somnox. If there is a new software version available, you will see this in the Somnox app (see figure below).
How can you perform a software update?
Follow the steps below to perform a software update of Somnox:
Step 1: Connect Somnox with your phone via Bluetooth.
In order to connect Somnox with your phone, you will need to download the Somnox app. Tap the button below to find out how you can connect your Somnox to your phone.
Step 2: Connect with Wi-Fi and perform a software update.
If a software update is available, you will see Update your Somnox at the top of the screen. Click on this! It is also possible that you will receive a pop-up screen that asks you to perform a software update. Just follow the steps.
A new screen will appear. Click on A new update is available!
If this is the first time that you have performed a software update of Somnox, you will need to connect Somnox to Wi-Fi. A new screen will appear asking you to set up a Wi-Fi connection.
Click on Set up Wi-Fi to connect Somnox to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
You may receive a prompt that asks to use your location. You can either click on Allow Once or Allow While Using App.
The Somnox app will search for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Important! Somnox only connects with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, not with a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. This can be difficult to understand. Therefore, you can read more about connecting to Wi-Fi by clicking the button below.
If your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, the name of your Wi-Fi network will automatically appear. Otherwise, you will need to connect your mobile phone to Wi-Fi first in your phone settings.
Click on your Wi-Fi network and fill in your Wi-Fi password. In most cases, you can find the password of your Wi-Fi network on the back of your Wi-Fi router.
Click on Set to Somnox. Somnox is now connected with your phone via Wi-Fi.
Somnox 2 will now automatically start the software update. A blue light appears on the control panel of Somnox while updating.
The software update will take approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
Once the software update is complete, Somnox will restart. The blue light now changes to white light.
Click on Okay in the Somnox app.
If you connect Somnox again to your phone via Bluetooth, you will receive a notification that the update is complete. The update has been successful!
Update not successful?
If the software update is not successful, the Somnox app will ask you to update the software again. Make sure to connect with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network on your phone. Need help? Please contact our customer service (contact details are provided at the bottom of this article).

How can I find the current software version of my Somnox?
Connect your Somnox with the Somnox App. Go to 'Somnox' tab. Tap on the 'user' icon at the top. Right below the header 'Somnox status' you can find the software version that is currently on your Somnox.

What do I see during an update?
The blue light on the control panel next to the power button slowly turns on and off.

How do I know if the update is successful?
After the update, Somnox restarts, and a pop-up will appear within the Somnox app stating that the update was successful.
Should Somnox be connected via Bluetooth during an update?
Yes. Please do not turn off your Bluetooth while updating.
